Peace Road became the centerpiece of PLACA\u2019s inaugural &#8220;All for One Multi-Cultural Festival,\u201d which filled one parking lot with food and other vendors, children\u2019s rides and booths promoting various businesses. Canada\u2019s Multiculturalism Day fell on June 27 this year.<br \/> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"bbl5c dkFHG _8UBmS _-7CKp\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"zKS-7\"><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-mfu2e48\" class=\"bbl5c dkFHG _8UBmS _-7CKp\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"zKS-7\">The event started with excellent entertainment from different ethnic communities: Ukrainian, Sri Lankan, Colombian,\u00a0as well as UPF\u2019s own \u2018Top Gun\u2019 dance group. This was all organized by UPF\u2019s <strong>Mr. Ryan Abenir.<\/strong> It was wonderful preparation for the Peace Road walk. This included a Chinese marching band, whose playing attracted a lot of attention, and representatives of other groups, such as the Ontario Filipino nurses, wearing Peace Road t-shirts, marching around the shopping center parking lot, ending in front of the main stage. Between marchers and watchers the crowd was around 300.<br \/> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"bbl5c dkFHG _8UBmS _-7CKp\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"zKS-7\"><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-bof6c50\" class=\"bbl5c dkFHG _8UBmS _-7CKp\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"zKS-7\"><strong>Dr. Moonshik Kim<\/strong>, chairman\u00a0of\u00a0UPF-Canada, gave a speech explaining the project\u2019s genesis, purpose and motivation,\u00a0including quotations from UPF\u2019s co-founders, Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. \u00a0Ambassador for peace\u00a0certificates were given to three\u00a0local dignitaries: <strong>Mr. Raymond Cho,<\/strong> the 88-year-old <a class=\"L-ZXL QZImc\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ministry_of_Seniors_Affairs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-hook=\"WebLink\">Ontario minister of seniors and accessibility<\/a>;\u00a0local Toronto City Councilor <strong>Mr. Brad Bradford, <\/strong>who both spoke warmly of the Peace Road and referenced Dr. Kim\u2019s speech;\u00a0and <strong>Mr. Kwan Sik Moon<\/strong>, the leader of a large group of Korean seniors attending and performing in the program.
