And the elected representatives of<br \/>\nboth boroughs also responded with a resounding <strong>yes<\/strong>. Federal Member of Parliament<br \/>\nfor St-Laurent, Emmanuella Lambroupolos, Mayor Alan DeSousa, and Councillor Aref<br \/>\nSalem joined in the St-Laurent borough. Federal Member of Parliament Abdelaq Sari,<br \/>\nrepresented by his staff member, Lina Messioune, Mayor Christine Black and Councillor<br \/>\nPhilippe Thermidor were on hand in Montr\u00e9al-Nord. And greetings from Madwa-Nika<br \/>\nCadet, provincial member of parliament, were read by UPF leader Chantale Lee.<br \/>\nIt was in an atmosphere at once both deeply meaningful and festive that the Peace<br \/>\nRoad event took place. Some thirty cyclists travelled the 15 km separating those two<br \/>\nboroughs of Montr\u00e9al, a symbolic way of promoting the vision of UPF founders, Hak Ja<br \/>\nHan and Rev. Sun Myung Moon, of an international highway crossing the globe and<br \/>\nuniting humanity as one human family under God.<\/p>\n<p>From outset to conclusion, district councillors and community and religious leaders<br \/>\nexpressed their support for this vision.<br \/>\nAfter greetings from government and municipal officials, the mayor of St-Laurent<br \/>\nlaunched the cyclists on their journey, and they were welcomed in Montr\u00e9al-Nord with<br \/>\nthe sound of the Bon Courage youth marching band.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, at the Peace Park (Beaudet Park) in the borough of St-Laurent, once the<br \/>\ncyclists had left, those less athletic folks also expressed their support for this vision by<br \/>\nwalking around the park.<\/p>\n<p>In Montr\u00e9al-Nord, after the arrival of the cyclists and welcoming remarks from local<br \/>\nelected officials, the event, with UPF Quebec coordinator Isabelle Laurin serving as MC,<br \/>\ncontinued with an hour of performances. Kadi\u00e9tou Savadogo, director of the Centre du<br \/>\nBon Courage, introduced the youth dance troupe, and a young girl from the Maison des<br \/>\njeunes l&amp;#39;Ouverture with a promising voice offered a song.<br \/>\nAntoine Nahas and Diane Boudreau, respectively Area Leader in Canada for Lions<br \/>\nClubs International and Governor of District U1 of the Lions Club, introduced Christa<br \/>\nMaria Abu Akl, a young girl who was a finalist on the Quebec talent show La Voix, to<br \/>\nbrilliantly perform songs of her own composition.<br \/>\nEmanuel Lallement, director of the Montr\u00e9al Stake for the Church of Jesus Christ of<br \/>\nLatter-day Saints, invited Marianne Lambert, an internationally renowned soprano, to<br \/>\nperform two songs with a magnificent voice, accompanied by Michel-Alexandre<br \/>\nBroekaert on the piano.<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9v. Serge C\u00e9lestin, president of the Montr\u00e9al-Nord Council of Religious Leaders, a<br \/>\nloyal partner organization, added some words of support for the initiative.<br \/>\nThe programme ended with a picnic on tables supplied by the borough of Montr\u00e9al-<br \/>\nNord.
